About Me

Hello there 👋. My name is Erik Berg and I am an aspiring builder of better things. I believe that the key to success is executing on the little things and that tomorrow will be better than yesterday. I love to read, learn, and think big thoughts. I pay the bills with product management but, I think of my true job as being a builder. My professional journey has been defined by a continuous and gradual attempt to define exactly what those two words mean for me.

A lot of my early writing is from my time as a VC investor. If you are interested in getting into VC, I wrote about my process here. As part of my transition to grad school, this blog turned into more of my personal reflections, and I expect it will stay that way. Right now my main writing focus is The Building Better Project where I explore the question, “How can we build better?”

I am from Denver, Colorado and now live with my wife, son, and dog in Virginia. In my free time, I enjoy reading fantasy novels, playing board games, collecting Bourbon at a rate that far surpasses my consumption, and watching the mighty Arsenal.
